Chamber Of Commerce Announces New Board Members

 
Covington, VA (Jan. 31, 2024) - The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism recently elected some new board members. Here they are:

Michael Foster

Michael Foster is a resident of Clifton Forge and is the co-owner of Jack Mason’s Tavern & Brewery along with his wife of over 30 years, Ann. A graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, Michael spent 25+ years in corporate finance and consulting roles in Richmond then in Denver, Colorado.

Chris Doyle

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and earned a master’s degree in education and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He has been a teacher, coach and school administrator, marketing director and currently serves as the Executive Director of Boys Home. Mr. Doyle has historically had a passion for education, non-profit leadership, strategic planning, marketing and community service. He has served on several boards of organizations that provide opportunities for youth. He and his wife, Katherine, have four adult children.

Janie Tyree

Janie is resident of the Alleghany Highlands and has worked in the real estate business for the past 23 years. In 2019, Janie started her own business, Mountain River Realty, LLC. She is married to Dwain Tyree, attends Falling Spring Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Falling Spring Ruritan Club. Janie was also named the 2019 Realtor of The Year for the Rockbridge Highlands Realtors. You can always find Janie at all sorts of youth sporting events watching her five grandchildren playing whichever sport is in season.

Dave Forbes

Dave and his wife, Cindy Forbes, are the owners of Fyvie Farms LLC. They purchased the old Alleghany Country Club in 2015 and conducted an extensive remodel and update of the property with the intent to reopen it to the public. Dave and Cindy were married in 2000 at Fyvie Castle in Fyvie, Scotland which has ties to the Forbes family. Fyvie Castle is also the origin of the name Fyvie Farms. He and his wife Cindy share in their love of old homes and have remodeled several in the area and enjoy bringing back the history and potential of a property.

Dave is currently employed by Ingevity Corporation, where he manages projects from concept to production. Dave is a Covington, Virginia native and grew up in the Dry Run area.

Rashad Worth

Rashad is a resident of Clifton Forge, graduate of Alleghany High School and attended Roanoke College before entering the workforce. Throughout Rashad’s professional journey, he has worked at Bacova Guild, Kmart & in construction while serving as a member of the Laborer's Union. Since February 2015, Rashad has worked in Clifton Forge at Northwest Ace Hardware. His journey started as a Store Clerk and he has since worked his way up to Store Manager. In April of 2013, Rashad married Regan Evans. They have two children, Rakeem Malcolm, 7 years old and Raquel Mya, 2 years old.
