Emergency Medical Information Kits Available   Covington, VA (MNay 23, 2023) - In conjunction with EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK May 21-27, Covington Emergency Medical Services has partnered with The Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area and Covington Volunteer Rescue Squad to distribute Emergency Medical Information Kits to the general public. These kits contain an information sheet to be filled out and posted on the refrigerator so that emergency responders can have immediate access to a person's vital information in the event of an emergency. Some of the information is the full name, date of birth, past medical history, medications, allergies, primary physician, and family contacts. This is vital information that can make a difference in the event someone is unable to talk, confused, or injured. To obtain an Emergency Medical Information Kit, pick one up at Covington Fire Department Station on Hawthorne St., Covington City Hall, Whitey’s One Stop on Carpenter Dr., or see any member of Covington Volunteer Rescue Squad.
