Chamber Announces Award Winners from Annual Dinner Meeting

Covington, VA (May 2, 2023) - The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism recently hosted the 44th Annual Dinner Meeting at the Greenbrier Resort with over 400 attendees present to celebrate business in the Alleghany Highlands. The meeting continually serves as a platform to recognize local businesses and business owners for all their hard work and contributions to the community throughout the year.

The Chamber announced several businesses and educators as winners at the annual dinner and wanted to give two of the winners, who were unable to be at the dinner due to other commitments, a shout-out for their incredible work and investments in the Alleghany Highlands over the past year:

The winner of the Website of the Year award was Beaverdam Falls. This scenic venue is a private nature preserve and unique camping destination that is a great asset to the Alleghany Highlands community and truly portrays the region's natural beauty. Their website showcases the venue's incredible scenery and natural assets through beautiful landscape photography, highlighting the property's grounds & historic waterfalls. From sleeping adjacent to the calming sounds of a waterfall to taking in a scenic on-property hike, this business provides visitors with an authentic, uniquely Alleghany experience! Beaverdam Falls is located at 1100 Kanawha Trail, Covington, VA and their website can be found by visiting beaverdamfalls.com.

The Dogwood Award for Beautification was awarded to Covington Car Company. Located at 912 Valley Ridge Road in Covington, this dealership completely refurbished a formerly vacant building and relocated to that space. The enhancements and investment that they have made have improved the look of the location substantially and now portrays a welcoming environment for all. If you haven’t visited their new location yet, the Chamber encourages you to stop by to check out the space and visit with the friendly staff.
