| Dressler Honored With Covington Builders Award

| Covington, VA (10_23_22) - A longtime Covington employee has been presented one of Masonry’s top awards.
Covington Interim City Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation Allen Dressler was presented the Community Builders Award by Covington Masonic Lodge 171 A.F. & A.M. prior to the lodge’s October 6 meeting.
The Community Builders Award is presented by Masonic lodges nationwide to recognize the efforts and service of non-Masons in their individual communities.
Dressler was presented the award by Covington Lodge Worshipful Master Richard Bowyer at the Covington Masonic Lodge, located on Dolly Ann Drive.
A graduate of Covington High School and Virginia Tech, Dressler has served as Parks and Recreation director since 1993 and has been responsible for numerous park upgrades and new park constructions, including the Jackson River Sports Complex, which he conceptualized and began constructing with the support of Covington City Council and grant funds in 2000.
In August, Dressler was named interim Covington city manager by Covington City Council, taking over the post left vacant by the resignation of former City Manager Krystal Onaitis.
“Allen has done so much for the city of Covington and the entire region, Covington Lodge 171 felt it was only fitting to present him the Community Builders Award,” Bowyer said during the presentation. “We truly appreciate everything he has done for the community and its residents.” | | | |
