Construction Worker Dies After Fall At Apartments Site In Low Moor   (Editor's note: the following is a press release from the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office on Friday afternoon, July 29, 2022) Covington, VA (July 29, 2022) - "On Friday, July 29, 2022 at approximately 10:43 a.m. the Alleghany County/ Covington Sheriff’s Office along with EMS personnel from Selma and Iron Gate responded to the construction site adjacent to the Alleghany Highlands YMCA for a construction worker who had fallen according to the E911 center. "Upon arrival first responders found Javier Suniga Cervuantes, a 28-year-old Hispanic male, had fallen approximately 21 feet to the ground where he was pronounced dead. "The initial investigation was conducted by Lt. Richard Shull and will be turned over to OSHA and the Virginia Chief Medical Examiner’s Office. "Mr. Cervuantes was a resident of Elliston in Montgomery County." "Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers," a Sheriff's Office spokesperson said.
