Iron Gate Recognizes The Service Of Councilman Donnie Hall
Town Awards $6,500 Contract To Nicely Contracting For 6th St. Repairs

 
Iron Gate, VA (Nov. 18, 2021) - Iron Gate Mayor Chuck Unroe read a proclamation of appreciation for the service of former councilman, Donnie Hall, this evening with his two daughters, Amanda Morris and Kelly Bowles present. From his tours of duty in Vietnam to his service on the town council, Hall was remembered for his dedication to his country and his town.

In other action, the town council:

• appointed Deborah Harris to file the unexpired term of Donnie Hall on the Iron Gate town Council by a 4-1 vote.

• reappointed Jennifer Tyree to another term on the IG Planning Commission

• Harold Patterson and Jerry Nininger were appointed to the IG Planning Commission by unanimous vote

• Rebecca Vest was reappointed to her seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals

• approved a $6,500 contract with Shawn Nicely Contracting of Clifton Forge to fix a portion of 6th St. that has been plaguing the residents of that portion of town.

• the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 6th at town hall.

• The Iron Gate Christmas Parade will be held Sat., Dec. 11th at 1 p.m.

• the next work session of the town will be Dec. 20th at 6 p.m. (the annual Christmas Dinner at the Iron Gate Fire Dept.) and the next council meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 30th.

• mayor Unroe thanked the Iron Gate Fire Dept. for its donation of many 36" wreaths to replace much smaller and older ones.
