Alleghany Health & Rehab: 100% Covid-19 Free
Facility receives results of the COVID-19 baseline testing that was conducted on all residents, patients and employees on June 22, 2020

Clifton Forge, Virginia (June 30, 2020) – Officials at Alleghany Health and Rehab today announced that all residents and employees have tested negative for the COVID-19 virus, as of June 22, 2020.

On June 22, 2020, in close coordination with the Virginia Department of Health, the facility underwent baseline COVID-19 testing for all residents and employees. The testing was conducted by the Virginia National Guard. The facility received the test results on June 30, 2020.

According the Ann Marie Parks, Alleghany’s administrator, the staff have worked very hard to maintain a COVID-19-free facility and to ensure that their patients, residents and employees remain safe and healthy during the pandemic.

Parks stated: “From the onset of current COVID-19 crisis, we have been both diligent and proactive in our efforts to reduce the potential for COVID-19 within our center. Our center continues to strictly adhere to the guidance and protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). This includes restricting all non-essential visitors to the facility, closely monitoring the health and wellness of not only their residents, but also their employees, and ensuring that all team members have access to the personal protective equipment (PPE) they need. We continue to have adequate levels of all needed PPE.â€

Parks added: “While we are unable to allow visitors to the center at this time, we understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important to our residents. Family members are encouraged to connect with their loved ones through video chat, calling, texting, or other social media formats. We are more than happy to assist in setting up a video visit for a resident and his/her family.â€

Please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website at www.cdc.gov to learn how you can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
