C. F. Library Features Star Wars Display

Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 9, 2019) - The Clifton Forge Public Library is featuring a display that depicts scenes from the Star Wars movie, “Episode 2: Attack of the Clones.” The display is part of Micah Burks’ private collection.
“This is one of my favorite movies in the Star Wars series,” Mr. Burks says. “I like the clone trooper uniforms more than the storm trooper uniforms. The color schemes, helmets, and visors are different variations.”
One of his favorite pieces, the AT-TE Walker, is featured in the display. At the press of a button, “it’s designed to open up and duplicate a lot of battle commands.”
Also highlighted is Obi-Wan Kenobi who led the charge in the Attack of the Clones. “Kids enjoy the battle scenes,” Burks says, “the action.”
Included is the DSD1 Spider Droid, also known as the Burrowing Spider Droid; the Droid AAT (armored assault tank); and, two destroyer droids called Droidekas, also known in Clone Trooper slang as Rollies.
“One special feature,” Burks says, “is the four Commandoes from the Grand Army of the Republic.” Delta Squad, a military unit during the Clone Wars, consisted of four clone commandoes: Boss, Fixer, Scorch, and Sev.
Replicas of the characters and equipment from “Attack of the Clones” is Mr. Burks’ third annual display for the library’s popular Star Wars displays. “The collection still goes on,” he says, “little pieces to add to the displays. I enjoy showing them. I enjoy preserving them like people do with antiques. They take care of them and respect what they are. They protect them. They’ll be a thing of the past someday.”
A grandfather now, Mr. Burks concludes, “I’m sure my grandson will enjoy some of it someday. It’s a real enjoyment for me.”
A life-long resident of this area, Mr. Burks is retired from the military, having served with both the Navy and the Army. He served five tours of duty – Operation Desert Storm, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Bosnia, Operation Somalia, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Star Wars “Attack of the Clones” collection will be on display throughout October.
