WestRock Announces Personnel Changes

 
Covington, VA (Oct. 1, 2019) - WestRock’s Covington Mill announces position changes that were internally announced in September.

Donna Whiting has accepted the position of forecast and inventory analyst in the Paper Mill department. In this position, she is responsible for the Paper Mill KPI monthly reporting package and supporting the Paper Mill and Environmental system procurement / invoice process, as well as the environmental group’s accounting and reporting needs. Whiting is also responsible for mobile equipment cost reporting and analysis.

Whiting earned her B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance in 2003 and her MBA in 2007 from Florida Southern College. She began her career at C. Douglas Bronson, CPA, as a staff accountant in October 2003 before joining Clifton Larson Allen, CPAs, as senior tax accountant in October 2008. In 2015, Whiting joined the Covington mill’s Finance department as a senior financial analyst.

Chris Myers has accepted the position of recovery maintenance supervisor. In this position, he is responsible for coordinating Recovery’s maintenance activities and ensuring adherence to safe work practices and guidelines.

Myers is a 1989 graduate of Covington High School. He completed his electrical apprenticeship through the IBEW in 1996, and his WestRock pipefitter apprenticeship in 2003. Most recently, Myers has worked as a pipefitter in the Maintenance department.

Steven Hall has accepted the position of maintenance planner for C2. In this position, he is responsible for planning daily and outage maintenance for C2.

Hall received his A.A.S degree in Pulp and Paper Technology from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in 1996. He then received his Virginia State Journeyman Millwright card in 2005, and his Virginia State Maintenance Pipefitter certification in 2011. His career with WestRock began in 1996 as a junior technician in the Research department, he was promoted to technician in 1998. In 1999, Hall transferred, as a technician, to Quality Assurance, and accepted the position of printability technician in 2000. In 2001, Hall became a journeyman millwright apprentice in the Maintenance department. He became lead millwright in Tour Maintenance in 2006. Hall joined Ingevity as tour foreman in 2015 and returned to the mill in 2017. Most recently, Hall supported the Construction Management Team for C1 Unleash.

Miles McGrew has accepted the position of human resources leader. In this role, McGrew will provide HR expertise and leadership for the Covington and Low Moor facilities. McGrew will partner with leaders and employees to support the HR function and influence positive business and talent outcomes.

McGrew holds a bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations from Sangamon State University and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois, Springfield. McGrew joins WestRock from Wabash National, where he served as director, Human Resources and Environmental Health & Safety. In this role, he was the HR leader for 2,000 employees across sixteen locations within the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Prior to Wabash National, McGrew has had HR roles with Columbus Castings, Cummins, Inc., Motorsport Aftermarket Group, Inc., Ingersoll-Rand, and CNH Industrial.

Ashley Forbes has accepted the position of mill controller in the Finance department. In this position, she is responsible for the development and tracking of operating plans, estimates, and strategic initiatives to support the mill’s achievement of financial commitments, as well as providing guidance on strategic decisions. Forbes will provide finance expertise and leadership for the Covington and Low Moor facilities, by partnering with leaders and employees to support the finance function and influence positive business and financial outcomes.

In 2001, Forbes received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Radford University. In 2001, she joined Westvaco as a cost accountant in the Activated Carbon group of the Specialty Chemicals division. Forbes progressed through the ranks in the finance department of the Carbon group including, division financial analyst, Wickliffe plant controller, and Carbon finance manager. Forbes then joined Klockner Pentaplast as the director of operations - controlling, Americas (2012 - 2017), and division CFO for the Food Consumer Products division, Americas (2018 - 2019).
