Central Early Learning Center Ribbon-Cutting Held In Low Moor

Low Moor, VA (Sept. 10, 2024) - The Alleghany Highlands YMCA celebrated the completion of phase one at the Central Early Learning Center at 105 Central Circle in Low Moor today with a pleasant ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Last year, the YMCA moved into the Central location with a vision of renovating the space into a quality early learning center, where children can learn, grow and thrive. The Alleghany Foundation supported the renovations which included five classrooms. The Y currently offers before/after school care, full day care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as well as school-aged summer camp.

The YMCA operates early learning 52+ hours each week with 25 staff serving at the West Campus and 17 staff serving at the Central Campus.

There are plans for future renovations, but the Y thanks everyone for coming out to tour the new classroom spaces and for a community that supports early learning.

The YMCA works in partnership with Alleghany Highlands Public Schools, TAP, United Way, and the Alleghany Foundation.
