Covington, VA (July 26, 2021) - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, Claude Elliott Elmore of Covington, Virginia, was taken into custody by Alleghany County Sheriff's deputies in connection with a drive-by shooting incident.

Elmore was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors, specifically:

â€¢ 18.2-279 (DISCHARGING FIREARMS OR MISSILES WITHIN OR AT BUILDING OR DWELLING) (felony)
â€¢ 18.2-282 (BRANDISH FIREARM) (misdemeanor)
â€¢ 18.2-56.1 (RECKLESS HANDLE OF FIREARM) (misdemeanor)
He is being held without bond in the Alleghany Regional Jail. A preliminary hearing on the case is set for September 13th.
