Dessaix Bernodotte (Buck) Hughes Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at his home in Raphine, Virginia.

He was born February 10, 1949, in Lexington, the son of the late Dessaix Bernodotte Hughes Sr. and Marie Miley Hughes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Hughes; his step-daughter, April Tucker Fogle, and his two sisters, Nadine H. Miller and Sharon H. Tomassetti.

Buck is survived by his spouse, Lynn Tolleson Tucker Hughes; his daughter, Emily H. Warner (Chris) of Kernersville, N.C.; his three grandchildren, Jacob Hughes, Klayton Kessler, and Ian Warner; and his sister, Emily H. Nicely of Lexington. At Buck’s request, there will be no services.
