Ronceverte Resident, Shoney's Server and Family Of God Church in White Sulphur Springs Member, Dies At Age 78

Mary Sandra Lockhart, 78, of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away on January 16, 2025, at her residence.

She was born December 15, 1946, in Ronceverte and was the daughter of Beatrice "Betty" Groves Fury and the late Elmer Wyatt Fury.

Sandy attended the Family Of God Church in White Sulphur Springs, had been a server at Shoney's in Lewisburg, but most of all was a homemaker.

Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lockhart; son, Richard Lee Stevens; sister, Barbara Benge and a brother, Roger Fury.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Thelma June Arter (David) of Buckeye, WV., Debra Faye Stevens of Ronceverte and Melissa Dawn Lockhart of Ronceverte; mother, Betty Fury of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Scott Bradley (Maggie), Robert Bradley, Michael Ryan Dillon (Elisha), Patrick Hall, Autumn Hall, and Michael-Lee Hall; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Greenwall of Charleston, Lucy Hamann (Edward) of Greenville, and Ruth Ridgeway (Billy) of White Sulphur Springs; brothers, Steve Fury (Becky) of Lewisburg, Donald Fury, Albert Fury, and James Fury (Shirley), all of White Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Sandy will be Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor John Kelly officiating.

The family will be receiving family and friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
