Obituary for David Franklin Osborne David Franklin Osborne
Frankford Resident, Army National Guard Veteran and Master Carpenter, Dies At Age 77

David Franklin Osborne, 77, of Frankford, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, peacefully at his home.

He was born on June 27, 1947, in Hinton, WV, the youngest son of John and Ruth (Reynolds) Osborne Jr.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He served in the Army National Guard and was an avid hunter, gunsmith, and master carpenter who built many beautiful homes in the area. He was a keen crossword solver and loved to best his kids at Scrabble. His weeks weren't complete without his Wednesday night dinners and Tuesday card games. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana and Alaska.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; sister, Sue, and brother-in-law, Van Hann.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children: Craig (Kerri), Sherri Wright (Kevin), Cade, and Debbie; siblings John Osborne (Kim), Margaret Dunn, Beverly Boggs (Dale), Rebecca Hann; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Frankford United Methodist Church, with Rev. Susan Sharp Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Frankford.

A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Trevor Wright, Kevin Boggs, Dennis VanReenen, Nathan Hanshew, Andrew Beiler, and Doug Boggs. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Boggs, George Wilson, Terry Webb, Danny Snyder, Josh Wolsey, and Grover Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care, Inc., 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
