Moving Forward... On Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, Alleghany County Supervisor James Griffith suggested that the county move forward to join the Central Shenandoah Planning District. This would mean that Alleghany County would then be better positioned for future economic development notice by not just the region, but the state as well. The county's staff was approved to initiate the suggestion.
