Sinkhole Repair Begins On Saturday, January 1, 2022, a sinkhole was reported on W. Chestnut St. in Covington, adjacent to a sidewalk near Covington High School. The problem was immediately roped off and the problem was analyzed at the beginning of the week. A clogged manhole, a collapsed pipe and other issues apparently contributed to the problem. Hammond-Mitchell Contractors are dealing with the site.
