Quilt Raffle Fundraiser for The Historic Masonic Theatre Begins October 14

Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 2, 2022) - The Historic Masonic Theatre is holding a fall/winter fundraiser by raffling “Reflected Harmony”, a quilt made and donated by international quilter, Kaye England. This beautiful queen-sized quilt featuring Rhapsody in Reds fabrics from Kaye England’s quilt design fabric is a specially-designed quilt made from a variety of triangle blocks – from half-square triangles and flying geese to diamond-in-a-square and economy blocks (like double-diamonds-in-squares). The quilt has plenty of visual interest and machine pieced by Kaye and is custom quilted by machine.

The “Reflected Harmony” quilt colors include warm rich reds and a variety of pinks with soft ivory and a touch of tan. Thanks to the placement of the ivory background through all the blocks, this fascinating quilt center has a continuous effect, visually blending the individual blocks together to look almost like one large complex block. The quilt center is 60” square fitting the top width of a queen mattress with 12” borders dropping evenly over the sides and end. Quilters say that having a square symmetrical bed quilt means that partners can’t put the quilt on the wrong way, so this quilt is perfect – it’s looks exactly the same from every direction!

The “Reflected Harmony” raffle begins Friday, October 14, 2022 and will run through February 18, 2023 when Kaye England will be at The Historic Masonic Theatre teaching a sold-out quilt retreat and will draw the winning raffle ticket.

Raffle tickets sell for $5.00 per ticket or $25.00 for six and may be purchased in person at The Historic Masonic Theatre or on-line at www.historicmasonictheatre.com

Kaye England, who lives in Indianapolis, is presenting her fourth sold-out retreat. This is the third quilt that she has designed and made and donated to the Theatre for raffle fundraisers. Kaye said, “I wanted to do something for The Historic Masonic Theatre because the Theatre holds a special place in my heart. My son is a musician and I understand first-hand how performers, theatres and music venues have suffered by being shuttered and unable to put on performances. I enjoy visiting the Alleghany Highlands and have seen the positive impact that this Theatre has had on this community”.

“Reflected Harmony” is hanging in the Theatre Annex for those who would like to see it during Theatre hours and events. Tickets may also be purchased from Masonic Theatre Preservation Foundation Board members in addition to several shops on Ridgeway. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to The Historic Masonic Theatre and will be used for preservation and ongoing important needs. “Reflected Harmony” has been appraised at $3200.

The Historic Masonic Theatre was built in 1905 and underwent an extensive renovation in 2016.
