UPDATED: Two Clifton Forge Residents Arrested After Church Break-Ins   Covington, VA (Sept. 14, 2022) - "The Alleghany/Covington Sheriff’s Office arrested two Clifton Forge individuals Friday, September 9th in connection with a break-in on September 6th at the Immanuel Baptist Church on Douthat Road. Matthew Lan Bancroft, 19, of Clifton Forge and Madajah Lynn Shinault, 21, of Clifton Forge have both been charged with the following offenses: One Felony count each of breaking and entering and two misdemeanor counts each of petit larceny less than $1,000. Both arrestees were released on a personal recognizance bond by the magistrate. Captain Scott Fischer was the investigating officer and was assisted by Lt. Fridley, Deputy Soto, and Clifton PD Sergeant Urban." * * * UPDATED: The Clifton Forge Police Dept. also lodged charges in the case. A total of nine charges have now been filed against the pair with a hearing date of October 13th in Alleghany County General District Court. The charges include breaking and entering, petit larceny, grand larceny, and trespassing.
