As part of their ongoing community literacy initiative the Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area partnered with the carpentry students of the Jackson River Technical Center to build lending libraries, affectionately named Kiwanis Book Nooks, which will be placed throughout the County and maintained by the Club. Books will be available for all reading levels: early childhood through senior adults. Pictured from far left is Pam Warren, club Secretary/Treasurer and Lieutenant Governor; kneeling center, Charles Fornwalt, Instructor of Carpentry Studies for JRTC; far right, Susan Knick, Club President; along with the students who built the Book Nooks.
