Program Gathering 'STEAM' at Regional Library

Covington, VA (Jan. 5, 2021) - The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library's S.T.E.A.M. Machine program is taking a new approach to reaching out to curious and creative young minds in the community!

S.T.E.A.M. Machine “Grab and Go” bags will be available for pick-up via the library’s curbside service. Each month a different themed experiment/project will be explored. For January, the “Grab and Go” bags will focus on the science behind sound with participants making a popsicle stick harmonica. Instructions and materials for each project will be included in the “Grab and Go” bags, as well as links to AHRL online databases to uncover the science behind each project.

AHRL S.T.E.A.M. programming focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math and offers participants hands-on activities to engage curiosity and improve problem-solving skills. Call the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library to reserve your “Grab and Go” bag.

For information on this and other library programs and activities, contact the staff at 962-3321. Information may be accessed on the library’s webpage at www.ahrlib.org or on Facebook and Instagram pages.
