Alleghany Co. Public Schools Hall Of Fame Nominations Sought Deadline Is November 29th   Low Moor, VA (Nov. 10, 2019) - Alleghany County Public Schools (ACPS) is committed to recognizing outstanding staff members who have shaped and influenced the future of students. As such, ACPS has established the Alleghany County Public Schools Hall of Fame to celebrate these staff members. Introduced to the School Board at its Monday, October 21, 2019 meeting, the Hall of Fame’s inaugural class will be inducted in March 2020. Eligible candidates must have been an employee of Alleghany County (Highlands) Public Schools for a minimum of ten years between 1983 and 2014 demonstrating outstanding contributions during their employment with the division. Alleghany County School Board Member Jennifer Seckner remarked, “Our teachers and staff are the heart of our school system.  There are a few employees that have not only excelled in their individual jobs but have made a tremendous impact on the students, co-workers, and our community in general.  I believe it’s time that we recognize these individuals for a job well done, and I applaud Mr. Vaughan for spearheading this effort.â€� Nominations will be accepted through November 29, 2019.
