Three Redneck Tenors Part Of Arts Council Series

Covington, VA (Oct. 23, 2018) - An audience favorite has been added to the line up of events in the Alleghany Highlands Arts Council's 2018-19 Performing Arts Series.

Executive Director Tammy Scruggs-Duncan announced that the Three Redneck Tenors will bring their holiday show "Xmas Spec-tac-YULE-ar" as a replacement event for a show that was cancelled in September in response to closings related to hurricane Florence.

"We had an overwhelming response when these artists were here last year so when we weren't able to reschedule the September event, they arranged their tour schedule to work us in," said Scruggs-Duncan. "The date available was three days after our traditional presentation of the Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops. The Masonic Theatre has a holiday presentation within a few days as well, so we are inviting local residents to make plans for a full week of Christmas cheer. There will be such a variety of offerings that everyone should find something to suit their taste and some will be delighted to attend all three."

The Three Redneck Tenors are Julliard-trained singers who love to comically spoof a tenor genre they liken to" a cross between Carnegie Hall and Duck Dynasty." The holiday show is new to their repertoire. It blends with the Arts Council's other season offerings including Plunky & Oneness jazz-funk, Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops, Ireland's National Dance Company 'Rhythm of the Dance' and the Richmond Ballet's RBII repertory company to bring a variety of talent to local audiences.

Season tickets are on sale now from any Arts Council board member or online at www.alleghanyarts4all.com. Until the first event November 5, all season ticket purchases will include two bonus passes to any single event in the season. For more information call 962-ARTS (2787)
