Scary Something Wicked Circus Comes to Town at The Historic Masonic Theatre

Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 15, 2018) - The annual frightfest, Something Wicked, returns this year to The Historic Masonic Theatre, 510 Main Street in Clifton Forge on Friday, October 26 from 7:00 to midnight and Saturday, October 27, 7:00 to midnight. Ticket price is $5.00 for the hair-raising tour. The theme of this year’s Something Wicked is: Circ de Morti (Circus of the Dead). The Circus has come to town and all the personnel are ensconced in the Theatre. Theatre patrons at first think all is normal, but as time goes by, they realize that nothing is normal about these Circus performers! This year’s Something Wicked Haunted House is in memory of Damian Hiatt, a valued volunteer of Something Wicked for several years.

Something Wicked has been scaring people silly for several years and this year is no exception. Circus carnies, tightrope walkers, lion tamers, bearded ladies, knife throwers, fire eaters, snake charmers and a bevy of clowns will be on hand to greet all visitors.

When the creative mind behind Something Wicked, Brittany Feazell, planned the first event, it was held in The Historic Masonic Theatre. “I had always wanted to do a scary haunted event in this community, so I worked with John Hillert to use the Theatre because at that time, it was a very scary place. All the proceeds from Something Wicked went to the Theatre’s restoration and John was instrumental in helping me plan and implement the event. When the Theatre began restoration, the Town allowed us to use Clifton Forge High School. We are happy to be back in the Theatre thanks to executive director, Jeff Stern, and all proceeds will go to Theatre operations. As a result of the money we have donated, the Something Wicked cast has a plaque on the Star Dressing Room door in the lower level of Theatre in our honor. We appreciate the support the Theatre and Town has given us through the years.â€

Something Wicked attracts scores of volunteers who willingly dress for their bizarre roles and scream bloodcurdling screams for hours on end. Something Wicked is suitable for ages twelve and up. The Something Wicked event will include all four floors of the Theatre which are handicap-accessible.

In celebration of Halloween, Something Wicked also sponsored the movie, SCREAM, and a Scary Story-telling Event on October 11 in the Theatre Underground. Something Wicked and the frightfest grows every year, thanks to volunteer involvement.

Something Wicked tickets may be purchased before hand at www.historicmasonictheatre.com, by calling the Box Office at 540 862 5655 or the evening of the event.
