American Saddlebred and Hackney Ponies coming to the Virginia Horse Center

 
LEXINGTON, VA (June 12, 2018) - The Shenandoah Classic Horse Show will take place Wednesday, June 20th through Saturday, June 23rd in the Waldron Arena, Anderson Coliseum, featuring just over one hundred classes exhibiting the world’s best American Saddlebred horses and Hackney Ponies in top level competition.

WHAT:

Tuesday, June 19th through Thursday, June 21st from 7 to 9AM, pastries and coffee will be available to spectators during the final training and preparation for the horses. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with horsemen and get up close with the horses. “Sunrise with the Saddlebreds” will be in the Moore Arena, adjacent to the Anderson Coliseum.

Wednesday, June 20th from 6PM to 9PM, there will be an opening ceremony featuring a Color Guard, invocation, and singing of the National Anthem. “A Grand Celebration” reception immediately follows with food and drink.

After the shows on Wednesday, June 20th and Thursday, June 21st, attendees can sign up for a complimentary, spooky experience with the classic Haunting Tales – Lexington Ghost Tour.

Friday, June 22nd starting at 9PM, the “Saddlebred Celebration” will close the evening with spectators, exhibitors, and trainers coming together for food, drink and Motown inspired live music on the concourse.

The championship performance on Saturday evening will feature 17 individual championship classes expected starting at 6:30PM.
