Winter Blues Quilt Retreat Held At Theatre

Clifton Forge, VA (Feb. 5, 2018) - Twenty seven quilters from many areas of the state of Virginia and states including North Carolina, Florida, Michigan and Minnesota attended the recent Winter Blues Quilt Retreat with international quilt designer, Kaye England at The Historic Masonic Theatre. Students enjoyed the two and one half day retreat that encompassed learning techniques of cutting with specialty rulers, piecing, design and execution.
Nancy Newhard from the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center gave a presentation on color. Kaye England donated 25 quilt tops she had designed and made with fabrics from her quilt line to The Historic Masonic Theatre to raise money for the Theatre in memory of John Hillert. Plans are being made for next year's retreat. | | | | | |
