Chittum Charged After Domestic Violence Leads To Death

Lexington, VA (Dec. 23, 2017) - Around 11:00 PM last night, the Rockbridge Regional Public Safety Communications Center received a report of a possible suicide at the Hunt Ridge Apartments. Deputies responded to the location and found Kelly Nicole Farmer, a 31-year-old white female of Canter Lane Lexington, deceased.
During their investigation, Deputies discovered that Farmer had been involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the night. Injuries sustained from multiple knife wounds during this altercation resulted in her death.
Derek Vaso Chittum, a 31-year-old white male of Canter Lane Lexington, has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder. Chittum is being held without bond in the Rockbridge Regional Jail. | | | | | |
