Pictured from left to right are; Trevor Cox 4th place, Cody Via 1st place, and Hannah Wolfe 5th place; currently there are sixteen JRTC welding seniors; all who have various plans after high school. Trevor plans to become a pipe welder, and possibly continue his education at a pipe welding school after graduation; Cody plans to become a welder and possibly attend college for more training, and Hannah is considering a degree in mechanical engineering.

JRTC Seniors Place in the AWS Welding Competition   Covington, VA (Dec. 9, 2017) - JRTC welding students recently competed in the annual American Welding Society welding competition. The competition was held at Botetourt Technical Education Center in Fincastle on Tuesday, Dec 5th. The competition had approximately twenty welding students from area schools which included; Floyd County, Giles County, Pulaski, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Botetourt and JRTC. The competition consisted of four different kinds of welding in various positions. All three JRTC students placed in the top five winning over $500.00 in prizes.
