Carilion Children's Patients To Celebrate Thanksgiving With One-Of-A-Kind Book Reading

ROANOKE, Thursday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m. - Carilion Children's patients celebrate Thanksgiving with one-of-a-kind book reading.

It is always hard to be in the hospital over the holidays, especially for young patients at Carilion Children's Hospital. This year, Carilion, Hollins University and Turn the Page are partnering to make sure patients and their families have a special Thanksgiving.

Hollins University is sharing a new book entitled Four Fur Feet from alumna Margaret Wise Brown's collection. Brown is best know for her North American children's literature classics Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny. Her manuscript Four Fur Feet has been newly illustrated. It will be shared exclusively with Turn the Page as a donated work to encourage interactive reading between children and their caregivers.

This Thursday at Carilion Children's Hospital, Carilion President & CEO Nancy Agee and Hollins President Pareena Lawrence will team up to give the first ever reading of Four Fur Feet along with some of Brown's other classics. For the next year, each child born at Carilion will also take home a copy of the book.
